Alex Hamel is a dedicated Capoeira instructor and martial artist with over 23 years of continuous training in the Afro-Brazilian art form. He developed his fundamental skills and deep-rooted understanding of the art's traditional mechanics under the prestigious academy Banzo de Senzala Atenas in Greece, training under the guidance of Professor Manel. Committed to deepening his craft, Alex has traveled the world to attend intensive seminars and visit renowned Capoeira schools. This global training spans instruction under legendary masters, including Mestre João Grande, Mestre Sombra, Mestre Liminha, Mestre Beija Flor, Mestre Ediandro, Mestre Marcos, Mestra Sylvia, Mestre Jogo de Centro, Mestre Acordeon, Mestre Pernalonga, and Mestre Moraes.

As an educator, historian, and highly visible performer, Alex has established a consistent instructional presence by teaching regular, structured classes in London, Athens, Mykonos, and Trikala, and he is frequently invited to international seminars to teach both Capoeira movement and traditional music. His deep commitment to the art form extends beyond physical practice; he has also written numerous articles detailing the rich history and cultural heritage of Capoeira. Alex has spent years showcasing Capoeira's strategic depth, acrobatics, and rhythm to diverse international audiences, participating in professional live shows across the United Kingdom and Greece, appearing on major Greek television networks, and delivering a prestigious performance for the United Nations in Greece.
